I don’t know about you, but personally, all that is happening in the world right now, on top of us still being in a pandemic, does not make it easy to feel happy.
Yet, besides supporting organizations that are focused on humanitarian help, I do know one thing that is vital for me and I believe for all of us and that is to cultivate our own inner happiness, no matter what is happening externally.
This does not mean we stick our heads in the sand and do not acknowledge the feelings we have about the situation.
It’s important to acknowledge our feelings…and still, be able to hold onto an inner state of calm and even a state of inner happiness.
You might ask why? How can I feel happy or calm with so much chaos and suffering happening in the world?
Good questions and concerns. Yet, our being unhappy or our own suffering does not help anyone.
For me, I’m consistently working on keeping my own inner calm, inner happiness present.
It isn’t something we can magically make happen. It does require taking action steps repeatedly to shift our set point of what we are accustomed to thinking and feeling.
And, as the situations in the world seem to get direr, whether in Ukraine, other countries, issues with the pandemic, as well as the USA’s political unease, I work at my practices even more diligently.
As a result, I am able to do the work I do in supporting others to live their best lives and cultivate better feeling states so they too can spread that energy around.
Over the next couple of months, I’ll be sharing more articles with tips and strategies on how to cultivate more inner happiness.
April is Stress Awareness month, so what better way to counter stress in our lives than to establish healthy habits that will squash the stress and allow us to expand into our best selves, eh?
