How’s your summer been?
How’s your summer been so far? Mine has been great! I love summers! I have especially been enjoying this summer because we started it early this year. We actually got some really nice May and June weather. That’s not always a given here in the Northwest. So, having a milder spring/early summer (not as much rain-not as cool) was especially a bonus, as I’m sure you are aware the Northwest is not known for its sunshiny weather most of the year! And, it has continued to be the type of summer that…
Play your way to fun and health!
Play for fun and health! Gabriel Randa was Mr. Target Heart Rate. Every day after work, he dutifully trucked to his health club to climb the stair machine, jog on the treadmill and pedal up “huge inclines” on the stationary bike. Trouble was, he was hugely bored and began to dread the gym. Cindy Samlith wasn’t bored. She was too busy with very important work to take time out to exercise. But a near-miss with breast cancer woke Cindy up to the need for physical activity and a reprieve from her previously…
It’s Easy to Forget…
Happy 4th of July to all American readers of “Mind Matters” I’ve taken a bit of a hiatus from sending my e-zines, but please know I’ve been busy doing exciting work at Healing Hypnotherapy. It’s easy to forget…how fast time flies when you’re doing what you love to do! One of the great events occupying my time was the 21 Days of Weight Loss Mindset program I led to a group of women wanting to have the mindset of success for weight release, instead of the mindset of dieting. It was so inspiring to…
Your mind can be your battleground!
Did you know that the battle for health and fitness is waged in the mind? It is. No matter how many books you read about diets, or what kind of gym membership you have or how great of a calorie counter you are– if your mindset is going down the wrong path, all of these things become insignificant and you will continue struggling over and over again. Repeating the same pattern…with yet another diet or fitness plan. Losing weight, getting rid of excess fat and being fit requires a series of…
Sunshine in Seattle!
The sun is shining here today in the Seattle area and it’s even suppose to get to 70 degrees-unusual for us this time of the year! Must say, I’m smiling! Love that sunshine. It’s amazing how it influences how I feel as I look out my window from my desk and see the blue sky, how green all the new foliage looks and how inviting bright and sunny is! More sunshine and brightness to share! Last month, I shared with you that my husband and I are going to Best Friends’ Animal Sanctuary to volunteer…
Spring has sprung! Mother Nature showing her intentions!
Spring has officially sprung, but we’re definitely getting mixed messages from mother Nature, here in the Northwest. Last week, we had some fierce winds and rain, temps that dropped and even a bit of hail and snow! Didn’t look very spring like to me. But then, as I changed my focus, I saw the daffodils blooming their bright yellow faces at me, the tips of green starting to unfurl on the trees, and even some early blooming rhodies are showing their pretty colors around the various neighborhoods. I’m reminded that Spring really is…
