It’s Chill Time-

“Summer is a period of luxurious growth. To be in harmony with the atmosphere of summer, awaken early in the morning and reach to the sun for nourishment to flourish as the gardens do. Work, play, travel, be joyful, and grow into selfless service. The bounty of the outside world enters and enlivens us.” -Paul Pitchford

As the summer solstice graced us and school days fade into the rearview mirror, it’s officially time to embrace what I call summertime mode.

First, a quick note—I realize I’ve been quieter than usual this month. June flew by, and between client sessions, creating a brand-new workshop on The Stress-Weight Connection for our local YMCA, and tending to my backyard “upper 40” (which turned into an accidental workout zone!), I barely sat down to write.

But this topic—the link between stress and weight—is so important, especially now. I’ve been hearing it from so many clients: Stress and anxiety are blocking their progress. And it makes sense. When we’re emotionally overloaded, our bodies struggle to find balance.

That’s why I’m on a renewed mission to support YOU in finding more calm, clarity, and connection with your healthiest self. Summer is the perfect time for it.

Here in the Pacific Northwest, the weather invites us outside—and into a slower rhythm. Hiking, walking, and simply being outdoors becomes easier. And that makes it a natural time to pause, reflect, and gently shift out of patterns that aren’t serving us.

Which leads me to the short piece I wrote for you—on how summertime mode can help ease stress and spark the health shifts you’ve been wanting to make.

Cheers to “summertime mode” and all the good it brings!
