As the colors of autumn deepen, the leaves begin to fall, and the days grow shorter, many of us find ourselves moving with the season’s slower rhythm—a natural invitation to continue to reflect and recalibrate.

In my last newsletter, we looked at how fear can quietly take up space in the mind, holding us back from the calm and confidence we deserve.

This time, let’s take that idea a step further: what if you could turn those fears and worries into energy that fuels clarity and courage?

Fear and worry are part of being human. They’re simply your subconscious mind’s way of keeping you safe—trying to protect you from possible pain, failure, or uncertainty. The problem isn’t that they exist; it’s that they often run on old, outdated programs that no longer serve you.

Your subconscious mind is incredibly powerful. It’s where your automatic beliefs, emotional responses, and self-talk originate. When you work at that deeper level—through hypnotherapy, visualization, or relaxation techniques—you can teach your mind new ways to respond.

Instead of tightening up when worry arises, you can retrain your inner responses to relax, breathe, and regain balance.

Here’s a simple way to begin:

  1. Notice when a fear or worry appears—pause and breathe.
  2. Be aware of how your body is feeling.
  3. Be curious. Ask: Is this a new or old fear or worry?
  4. Acknowledge it.
  5. Keep being curious: What might it be trying to protect you from or tell you?
  6. Nurture yourself by choosing a new thought or calming image that supports you in feeling centered and safe.
  7. How can you now begin to reframe this fear?

Example in Action

Let’s say you start to worry about getting behind at work after taking time off.

You pause, take a slow breath, and notice tightness in your chest.

You realize this is an old worry—one rooted in wanting to prove your worth.

You acknowledge it, thank your mind for trying to keep you “safe,” and then gently reframe it:

“I’ve always found my rhythm again before. I can trust myself to do so now.”

That single reframe begins to release tension and brings your body and mind back into calm balance.

Even these small moments of awareness can begin to shift subconscious patterns. Over time, they build an inner foundation of clarity, trust, and calm confidence.

Consistently bringing awareness to your thoughts and the sensations in your body allows you to turn old fears and worries into fuel—energy that moves you forward with greater ease, confidence, and peace.
