Spring Reset Exercise: Releasing What No Longer Serves You
As the days grow longer and the first signs of spring appear, we naturally feel the pull to refresh and renew.
Just as we open windows to let in fresh air and clear out the dust of winter, we can also clear out the emotional, mental, and even physical clutter that no longer serves us.
What if this season wasn’t just about tidying up your home—but about releasing the weight you’ve been carrying in all areas of life?
Imagine the lightness, the clarity, and the freedom that come with truly letting go.
Grab a piece of paper and get ready for some letting go and releasing!
1. Make a List
Write down 10 things you feel ready (or almost ready) to release. These could be:
- Physical items taking up unnecessary space
- Old habits or thought patterns that keep you stuck
- Relationships that no longer bring you joy
- Responsibilities or commitments that drain you
- Fears or doubts that hold you back
2. Prioritize Your Top 3
Review your list and circle the three things that feel the most important or freeing to let go of.
3. Explore the Benefits (and Possible Resistance)
For each of the three, ask yourself:
- What positive shifts could happen if I let this go?
- What might be challenging or uncomfortable about releasing it?
- How will my life feel lighter, clearer, or more open?
4. Commit to a Plan
Decide when and how you’ll take action:
- If it’s a physical item, set a date to donate, recycle, or toss it.
- If it’s a habit, mindset, or relationship, create a small first step to start letting go (e.g., setting a boundary, shifting self-talk, or seeking support).
- Write down your commitment and hold yourself accountable.
Spring is the season of renewal—and by letting go of what no longer serves you, you create space for what does.
