Spring is Here… but Are You Still in Winter Mode?

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” — Anaïs Nin

Spring has sprung!

Here in the Pacific Northwest, it feels like Mother Nature is letting out a quiet sigh of relief — slowly revealing her blossoms, stretching toward the light, and coming back to life.

And just as nature begins to open and grow… this can be a powerful time for us to do the same.

To invite a fresh start.
To allow something new to emerge.

And yet — in times like these — that can feel challenging.

Which is exactly why it matters.

Because if we continue to stay in the old, familiar “winter mode” of the mind — protective, guarded, bracing — without questioning how our thoughts and self-talk are shaping our daily experience…

We can unintentionally keep ourselves stuck there.

Not just in stress.
But in a quieter kind of disconnection from our own vitality.

When the world outside feels uncertain or overwhelming, it becomes even more important to create calm within.

Otherwise, we lose our sense of steadiness.
Our clarity.
Our ability to feel like ourselves.

And this isn’t about “positive thinking.”

It’s about something deeper.

It’s about cultivating a resilient calm — one that supports clearer thinking, wiser choices, and a way of moving through life that feels more aligned… and more energizing.

Because your nervous system isn’t asking for more pressure.

It’s asking for calm.
For safety.
For a different kind of inner conversation.

And that’s where self-talk becomes so important.

Wouldn’t it feel different…
to notice what’s happening around you — the news, the noise, other people’s opinions — without feeling so easily pulled off center?

To stay engaged in life… and still feel grounded?

I know that can feel like a stretch at times.

I’ve had some recent personal challenges that have tested my own inner calm — my thinking, my self-talk, my emotional responses.

And it reminded me, again, how vital this inner work is.

Not to avoid difficulty — but to move through it differently.

To notice what’s happening internally… and have the ability to shift, rather than staying stuck in it.

That’s the real work.

And it’s what allows us to move out of that “winter protection” mode — no matter where we’re starting from — and begin to experience more ease, more clarity, and yes… more joy.

Because you don’t have to stay in overwhelm.
You don’t have to stay in stress or constant anxiety.

There is another way to move through your days.

One that supports your nervous system.
One that supports you.

An Invitation for Your Spring Revitalization

If something in this resonated with you, this may be the perfect time to explore what a shift could look like for you.

Not just in how you think —
but in how you feel… and how you move through your life.

Let’s connect for a complimentary Clarity Call.

I’ll guide you through a short experience so you can experience the shift for yourself — calming your nervous system and reconnecting with that steady, grounded part of you.

As I’ll be stepping away from my office for a period of time in April, if you’re ready for this kind of shift, I encourage you to connect now — rather than continuing to place yourself on the back burner and remaining in “winter mode.”

I look forward to hearing from you and any comments you would like to make about this article.

Warmly,

Jackie
