Let’s Take Care of YOU this week!
When we focus on our gratitude, the tide of disappointment goes out and the tide of love rushes in.” — Kristin Armstrong
As Thanksgiving week begins here in the U.S. and the holiday season officially unfolds, I’ve been noticing how quickly the ease of fall can shift into stress and overwhelm for so many people.
Can you relate?
Maybe your to-do list is growing, your schedule’s packed, and your mind is running in ten directions. Before you know it, sleep slips away, your patience wears thin, and you feel like you’re running on fumes.
I know how easy it is to get caught in that cycle — I’ve been there. And that’s why now is the perfect time to pause and refocus on you.
Self-care isn’t selfish; it’s essential.
It’s what helps you stay grounded, calm, and able to show up as your best self — for the people you love and for yourself.
Here are two simple self-care practices that can shift you from stress to calm — quickly and powerfully.
1. Create a Daily Gratitude List
You can do it at the beginning or end of your day — what matters is that you do it.
- Gratitude boosts serotonin, decreases stress hormones, and improves sleep.
- The more you notice what you appreciate, the less control worries or irritations have over you.
- It’s a simple practice that fills you up instead of depleting you.
How to start:
- Stop, take a few deep breaths, and ask yourself: What am I grateful for?
- Write: I am grateful for ______ (your health, your partner, your home, your morning coffee…)
- List at least three things, then pause and notice how you feel.
I’m betting you’ll feel calmer, more at ease — maybe even a bit joyful.
2. Celebrate Your Wins
At the end of the day, jot down two or three things that went well.
Maybe you showed patience, finished a project, or took time to breathe.
By focusing on small victories, you train your brain to see success instead of shortcomings — and you remind yourself that you’re already doing a lot right.
This practice shifts your energy from pressure to progress. It’s a small but powerful act of self-care.
Even just a few minutes of gratitude and reflection can make an enormous difference in how you feel — more centered, calmer, and ready to enjoy the days ahead.
