Simple Ways to Reconnect with Yourself
“Caring for your body, mind, and spirit is your greatest and grandest responsibility. It’s about listening to the needs of your soul and then honoring them.” – Kristi Ling
As the air gets crisper and the days grow shorter here in the Pacific Northwest, I notice something interesting happening inside me: I feel both energized and a bit rushed.
My mind jumps ahead into planning mode — sorting, organizing, preparing for the holidays and all the meaningful (and sometimes hectic) activities that fill this season.
Maybe you can relate?
November tends to be the month when our calendars begin to fill, but our energy can start dipping… especially if we’re not being intentional about taking care of ourselves, too.
This is when healthy boundaries matter even more.
This is when mindful pause moments make all the difference.
And this is when taking time for self-care isn’t just helpful — it’s essential.
So before we tumble headfirst into the holiday season, let’s use these next couple of weeks to re-commit to self-care and create a few small, grounding practices you can depend on as things naturally speed up.
We’re in a transition season — from the slowing down of fall into the fuller pace of year-end — and this is the perfect time to set the tone for how you want to feel through it all.
It’s the perfect time to re-connect with yourself!
Let’s start simple. Here are two small acts of self-care you can do today:
1. Take a mindful minute.
- Wherever you are, pause and take three slow, intentional breaths.
- Inhale calm. Exhale tension.
- This simple act can reset your nervous system in less than 60 seconds.
To support you with this, here’s a free 3-minute Focused Calm Breathing audio I created for you:
You can watch and listen to it on my YouTube Channel.
2. Create a “mini-retreat” moment.
- Light a candle. Sip tea. Sit quietly and notice your surroundings.
- Even five minutes of intentional stillness can bring your body back into balance.
You don’t need hours at a spa to feel refreshed — you just need small, consistent moments that remind your mind and body that you are safe, supported, and allowed to rest.
Remember: Self-care isn’t a luxury.
It’s a necessity — especially for managing stress and anxiety before the holiday pace picks up.
And if life feels overwhelming, or if it’s been hard to make space for yourself, I’d love to help.
Together, we can unravel the stress, calm the inner pressure, and get you feeling clearer, steadier, and more grounded as the year winds down.
Let’s talk — and let me help you find the next best step for you at this time.
