Relax Now to Reset Later!
“Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is relax.” Mark Black
Well, here we are at the end of August. I know I’m not alone when I say how quickly my beloved “summertime mode” has gone by.
I’ve been busy, similar to the bees and hummingbirds in my yard that I watch when they are happily collecting nectar from the flowering plants.
But it’s been a good busy.
I’ve tended to my yard, took hikes, baked cakes for my volunteer work that supports children in homeless shelters celebrate their birthdays and supported clients in making the changes they desire! All things I love to do.
I even got to officiate two weddings, which I love doing!
The ceremonies inspire me and all who witness these unions. And, they were both outdoors a plus, since it’s still summer with nice weather here in the Pacific Northwest.
My husband and I have continued to love hosting friends for some simple “deck time,” enjoying conversation and warm evenings.
And, just as important, I’ve also made sure to take time to just “be”—to relax and enjoy the outdoors from my amazing deck, where I can gaze at my flowering containers, watch the birds at the feeder, and soak in all the lush vegetation on the hill in our backyard.
Even though it’s still warm here, but I can feel the shift: summer is winding down. And as I lean into that shift, I want to keep my focus on relaxation—not just as something nice to do, but as a way of preparing for the next season.
Because fall, to me, always feels like a reset—a refresh and a renewal.
Almost like a new year, but with a different vibe. Maybe it’s the “back to school” energy, or maybe it’s that sense of gearing up for the last quarter of the year, ready to finish strong.
What about you? Do you also feel that call to reset as the seasons change?
Here’s the key:
Relaxation isn’t just indulgent—it’s productive.
Research even shows that when we allow ourselves to rest, we improve our focus, creativity, and resilience.
One study published in the Journal of Occupational Health Psychology found that people who built in recovery breaks—including relaxation—returned to their work with more energy, less stress, and better problem-solving skills.
So, relaxation is more than a luxury. It’s actually a strategy for your well-being—a way of setting yourself up for a smoother, stronger reset as you move into fall.
Over the past weeks, we’ve explored:
Reflection and Making Space for What’s Next.
Relaxing in Nature (for National Relaxation Day).
Now, as August comes to a close, I invite you to see relaxation as your bridge into September’s fresh energy. Because when you pause now, you’ll carry calm and clarity forward—right where you’ll need it most.
And to help you do just that, I’ve put together a special Relaxation Audio Bundle—originally 2 audios, now 3, for the same low price. It includes:
- Special Place Relaxation Meditation
- 5 Minutes of Healing Relaxation
- It’s Time to Relax
Think of these as your personal toolkit for relaxation and renewal—short, soothing audios you can return to whenever you need to pause, breathe, and find your center.
I invite you to take these last days of August to pause and honor your inner rhythm.
Because when you choose to relax now, you set yourself up for a calmer, more grounded reset later.
Warmly,
Jackie
P.S. Don’t forget—you can get all 3 relaxation audios for the price of 2. Think of them as your personal relaxation toolkit, ready whenever you need to pause, breathe, and reset.
