Your Vision and Goals: Your key to creating calm and ease in 2014!

All successful men and women are big dreamers. They imagine what their future could be, ideal in every respect, then they work every day toward that distant vision, goal or purpose.”  Brain Tracy

We all wish to live the life we really want. If that’s the case, why does it seem that so few of us actually do?

Creating the life we want should be easy, but for many reasons it isn’t. Sometimes we’re too busy working, paying bills or picking up kids to give it much thought. Sometimes we don’t know how to get clarity so we put it off until “later.”

Or, perhaps, we have ignored what we really wanted and, instead, created a life that others wanted for us (or themselves)-ouch.

When we’re not living the life we really want, we feel unease: we’re distressed and stressed out.

Our lives feel out of balance and feelings of powerlessness can prevail.

Let 2014 be YOUR year for to have YOUR life the way you want it to be!

Use your powerful mind to create what you truly desire!

Create a Vision for your life! Why create a Vision? Power of Choice

When we create from the “inside out”…using our minds and our heart’s desires, we are in choice, instead of feeling powerless over life’s external circumstances, which can ebb and flow. We are choosing how we want to be participating in the flow of life.

Guidance

A Vision is like a guiding star which can help us reach beyond the current pressures of life and inspire us to keep stepping up to who we really are!

Potential

A powerful vision-one that connects you with your deepest passions and sparks your highest potential-helps you to know why you’re doing what you’re doing regardless of challenges at any given moment. It provides the viewpoint of prioritizing what is most relevant as you respond to your daily life.

Foundational

Having a vision is like laying the foundation for what you want to build. A weak foundation couldn’t possibly hold up a tall building.

Energizing

Taking time to create a vision yields energy, clarity, inspiration and direction. These all support you in prioritizing how you “do” each day. Having a vision of what you want to achieve/create in your life, allows you to “feel” what it would be like to have achieved your dream, your vision. When you “feel” the energy of your vision, it attracts to you what it is you need to lead you closer to your vision.

Navigational

The Vision you create becomes the “compass” that keeps you on track! The most successful visionaries have the ability to look into their future, see what’s possible, and at the same time, maintain a focus on what needs to be done in the present. Having a vision gives purpose and meaning to life.

Now it’s time to create your Vision & Goals for 2014!

  • Give yourself the gift of “Quiet” time for you

Go to a place where you can sit and be alone undisturbed for a short period of time

Take a few deep breaths and set the intention of dreaming about all you desire in your life for 2014

Include your relationships; your health and well being; your work/career/business life; your finances; your home, recreation time.  Allow yourself to feel how it would be to have these things this year.

  • Open your eyes and start writing it all down.
    • You may want to categorize it into the various areas of your life.
    • Writing with pen and paper is more effective than simply typing it onto a Word document. It anchors it into your brain and subconscious mind much better.
  • Now…allow that to marinate for a couple of days as you focus on the feeling of your Vision
  • Come back and create goals for each of the areas of your Vision.

Goals are the stepping stones…that get you from point A to point B.

Without goal setting, you lack focus and direction.  Goal setting not only allows you to take control of your life’s direction, but it also provides a benchmark for determining whether you are actually succeeding in achieving your Vision.

Use the SMART way of setting goals:

Specific: be very clear about what will be accomplished.

Measurable: include a quantifiable way of tracking your progress from start to finish.

Achievable: Challenging and at the same time doable…it’s not about being stressed, it’s about creating ease!

Relevant: In harmony with your Vision, core values and passion.

Timely: Have deadlines attached to your goals.

Taking the time to create your Vision and goals for 2014 will give you confidence, energy and inner peace knowing you have a map for the life you desire!
